A Sudanese government official told AFP on Wednesday that the Sudanese army had “suspended its participation in the Jeddah negotiations” in Saudi Arabia, which are taking place under US and Saudi sponsorship, to reach a truce with the Rapid Support Forces, which dispute power with it.
This official said, on condition of anonymity, that the army took this decision “because of the rebels’ non-implementation of the provision for their withdrawal from hospitals and citizens’ homes, and their continued violation of the armistice.”
