Kira, a student at the University of Hawaii, struggles to stop the tears while she says: "So we are officially about 30 seconds driving and I'm already crying."
After Gizmo makes his way through the treat, the duo make a final walk together and the rescue dog can limp along the street while struggling to keep up.
In the final emotional scene, Gizmo sits on the veterinary table while nibbling treats while being caressed and cuddled by Kira and her mother Shelly Beltran.
As he lies down, the screen cuts to a heart-warming clip of him with the words & # 39; In loving memory of Gizmo. & # 39;

Kira said: "He was really a part of our family and I had to make sure that his last day was filled with endless amounts of love and food.
Fortunately I was at home when we realized how bad the health of Gizmo was.
I wanted to make sure that Gizmo, my best friend over the years, got as much food as he could and had the best last day a dog could have. He deserved it. & # 39;
Gizmo's health had steadily declined over the years and his age-related disorders included hearing loss and developing cataracts that worsened his sight.

He had arthritis in his front right shoulder, making him limp and he was also incontinent and had to wear diapers.
Kira said: "He always had my back, so he deserved it, especially when I was younger and did not want to eat the rest of my dinner – he always stood up to get everything I did not want.
& # 39; He ate the puppuccino in the car all the way home, and ended it in our backyard, which took him about one and a half hours. Then I took him for a walk.
I hoped to get him close to the block, but his legs were so painful because of the arthritis that we only reached the corner of my street and back, which lasted 30 minutes.
"After eating as much as he wanted that day, I met my mother to take him to the vet.
