The producer and a & # 39; handful & # 39; staff of 25 people left their jobs in protest after Hardwick was accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

In June it was revealed that Hardwick, 46, was the ex-boyfriend that Dykstra, 29, said he had controlled and sexually assaulted her on a regular basis.

AMC temporarily removed Hardwick as the talk show host, who deals with episodes of The Walking Dead, and launched an investigation.

Two weeks ago, the network announced that Hardwick would return to work.

"We take these matters very seriously and, given the information available to us after a very careful review, which includes interviews with numerous people, we believe that returning Chris to work is the appropriate step," he said in a statement.

Hardwick and the Talking Dead staff had a "very emotional" meeting on Wednesday, according to The Wrap.

The sources said that Hardwick gathered the staff and apologized for the scandal. They described his behavior as "apologetic and contrite".

According to reports, Hardwick also told staff members that he would have personal meetings with anyone who wanted to address additional concerns.

In the essay titled Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession, Dykstra said she experienced "long-term abuse" from her ex-boyfriend, who said she was 20 years older than her. The actress wrote that she met him at a convention when she was little more than twenty years old.

Dykstra, an actor and cosplayer, wrote that the relationship "started badly" and that her boyfriend had given her a set of rules that she had to follow within the first two weeks after they started dating.

Some of them included that she reserved her nights for her ex. Dykstra said that because he had a busy schedule, he rarely saw his friends.

"I should not have close male friends unless we worked together, all the photos of male friends had to be removed from my apartment, which was heartbreaking for me, since my best friend turned out to be a man," he wrote about rule number two.

Dykstra could not drink alcohol either, because her boyfriend was sober. Hardwick has often discussed his struggles with alcohol addiction.

"Before starting to leave, he said:" I noticed that you have a glass of wine with dinner. That's going to stop, "he wrote.

According to the actress, other rules included not speaking in public places because she thought that "people recognized him and listened to our conversations".

"Our dinners used to be silent, he on his phone," he added.

Dykstra also said that he was not allowed to take pictures of them together. While her boyfriend eventually relaxed with that rule, she always had to ask for his permission first.

These were just some of them. And I made the decision to accept his control behavior, since he had just left his long-term girlfriend and I assumed he was going through a great emotional discomfort. This was a big mistake, "he wrote.

The essay said that the man would leave Dykstra in hotel rooms while attending events and forced her to take a job in his company's chamber. Dykstra wrote that she was against working for an important person but she took the position because she was afraid of "angering" him.

"I accepted the job, but I refused to pay for my work, feeling uncomfortable with the whole thing (although the lovely people in his company finally forced me to take a check.) At this time, as I said, I was terrified of getting mad, so I did what he said, "he published.

Dykstra also accused her ex of sexually assaulting her on a regular basis before their separation in 2014.

"He was expected to be ready for him when he got home from work … Every night, I was there for him, occasionally crying, he thought the whole idea was fun," he wrote. "To be fair, I did it for fear of losing it."

Dykstra said after three years of "having been constantly screamed / shouted, she was very rarely shown affection", she ended the relationship. His ex, according to Dykstra, retaliated by blacklisting him.

In a statement, Hardwick said: "It broke my heart when reading Chloe's publication." Our three-year relationship was not perfect, ultimately we were not a good couple and we argued, we even shouted at each other, but I loved her. and I did everything possible to elevate her and support her as a companion and companion in any way and without. When did I sexually assault her?

"When we were living together, I discovered that Chloe cheated on me and I ended the relationship."

"It dazzles me to read that now she accuses me of behavior that did not happen, I was surprised by her publication and I always wanted the best for her As a husband, son and future father, I do not approve any type of mistreatment of women".

This week, Dykstra tweeted that he still stands firm on & # 39; every word & # 39; of his essay.

"I made sure it was not embellished, in fact, and that I had evidence to back it up in order to protect me in the event of an ACTUAL litigation (not a network investigation, where I am not protected," he wrote.

After the publication of Dykstra on the blog went viral, several members of Talking Dead told The Wrap that Hardwick was known for the outbursts and clashes that were similar to what his ex had described.

And a former employee who worked for Hardwick on Nerdist said it made it difficult for people to find work in the future if he felt he had been betrayed, just as Dykstra claimed he derailed his career after their separation.

Since then, the name of Hardwick has been restored on the website of Nerdist, who was co-founder.

He has also been reinstated as the host of NBC's prime-time games show, The Wall, and appeared as a guest judge at America's Got Talent last week.
