A Nashville mother admitted she drowned her daughter because the 7-year-old wouldn’t leave her alone, authorities said.
Brandi Elliot, 33, was charged with first-degree murder and denied bail after she allegedly drowned her daughter Piper in Drakes Creek in Hendersonville on Saturday.
He reportedly told police he had a bad day and that Piper wasn’t giving him what he wanted: alone time.
It was then that he decided to take Piper to a shallow area of the green area and held her underwater until bubbles appeared.
Elliot told the girl to be quiet while holding her underwater “like a black sea bass,” she said. WKRN.

Elliot told the court on Tuesday that she had been diagnosed with postpartum depression when her daughter was two years old, but was not currently under medical care.
“When my daughter was two, I kind of felt bad, like I did this time,” Elliott told the court.
“I had postpartum depression and was given medication for it. I couldn’t sleep well.”
The mother allegedly told police she had a bad day and that Piper wasn’t giving her what she wanted: alone time.
Her attorney and the state said Tuesday they did not want her to be mentally evaluated at this time.
The accused has no criminal record and works at McDonald’s.
Elliot cried as she told the judge that her husband lived with a disability.
Prosecutors have said they are considering the death penalty for Elliot if she is convicted.
