Controversial streamer IShowSpeed vows to never return to Norway after being mobbed by legions of fans as he tried to escape a building after injuring his ankle during a performance.
The player, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is in Europe for the 2024 European Football Championship.
The terrifying incident began when Watkins was inciting a crowd on the streets while standing in the window of a souvenir shop, attempting to get them to chant the word: “Siu”, a slogan associated with soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
As the crowd went wild, Watkins mimicked the Portuguese striker’s goal celebration, which involved jumping and spinning in the air. After landing, he did so in an awkward manner, hurting his ankle in the process. “I think I’ve broken my ankle,” he shouted.
A later clip showed Watkins being led out of the building into a van by a caretaker as fans surrounded him, with at least one person seen grabbing his hair, another throwing a liquid he said was urine at him, while another performed a pro-wrestling-style jump off a car.

The streamer later described it as one of the worst days of his life and alleged that a fan threw urine at him.
Shortly after, a shaken Watkins took to social media to tell his Norwegian fans that as much as he loves them, he will not be returning to the country.
In a video recorded just as Watkins reaches the car, he confronts the man who lunged at him. “That’s not fucking funny, bro! You’re not even listening to me. I promise you, by God, I’m never coming to this fucking country.”
In a more somber video recorded in the car as he sped away from the scene, Watkins reflected on what happened, referring to it as “the worst day of (his) life.”
“I broke my ankle, I had my hair ripped out, I had water thrown on me, someone literally did a WWE Rey Mysterio move and jumped out of the car. It was the scariest day of my life, I can tell you that, I couldn’t even breathe,” she said.
In a later video, Watkins said the substance thrown at him was “d***.”
“They pulled my hair out and urinated on me three times and some random guy got in my car and started doing drugs, fuck no, I’m fucking drunk.”
It’s also been a bad week for the streamer. Just days earlier, he was stunned when his idol Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in Portugal’s win over Slovenia.
“I’ve never seen him miss a penalty in my life,” Watkins said after regaining his composure. “I’ve never seen him miss a penalty in my life.”
His comments barely drowned out the chants of “Messi, Messi, Messi” that could be heard among spectators at the fan park where he watched the action.
The video began with the Ohio-born star greeting fans in Norway’s capital, performing a stunt that resulted in an ankle injury.
The streamer can be seen writhing in pain as he waits to leave the event.
Social media influencer IShowSpeed reacted with shock as his idol missed the chance to give Portugal the lead
Watkins started his YouTube channel under the name IShowSpeed in 2016 from his native Cincinnati, Ohio. He gained fame for playing FIFA, Fortnite, and Roblox.
His violent outbursts made him a star on TikTok and led to wider fame, leading him to begin a music career and make appearances with World Wrestling Entertainment.
This is despite numerous controversies, including allegations that he made a rape threat against fellow streamer Ash Kash, resulting in his ban from Twitter from 2021 to 2023.
