The prisoner was sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment and transferred to another facility, according to the suspension document.

The document was released Monday.

Ferguson’s relationship with the prisoner was in violation of office policy to discredit the department and deal with known criminals.

The alternate was initially given a 60-day suspension. That sentence was then reduced to twenty days after a January hearing.
