‘The Sexiest Athlete Alive’ Alica Schmidt and fellow German Michelle Janiak flee the sea after spotting a thief stealing their belongings on the beach…but he’s a VERY ‘crook’ surprising

That’s when stunning athletic stars Alicia Schmidt and Michelle Janiak were forced to flee the sea after spotting a surprising thief stealing their belongings on the beach.

The German sports duo cooled off in the water while swimming in Kogel Bay, off the coast of South Africa.

Before entering the water, Schmidt, 25, dubbed “the sexiest athlete alive”, is seen filming herself in a white dress and sunglasses as she laughs alongside Janiak as they walk through the water on a secluded beach.

As the two men walk through the lapping water in their flip-flops, Schmidt pans the camera, giving viewers a glimpse of his incredible surroundings.

Vast mountain ranges and rolling green hills surround the idyllic beach, but the two runners’ relaxing getaway wasn’t going to last very long.

They quickly noticed something suspicious near the camera they had installed and ran back from the sea.

Footage showed the athletes screaming as they noticed some of their snacks had been stolen.

The wholesome footage then cuts to a shot of the athletes’ backs as they run in bikinis through open water.

Schmidt dons a green thong bikini while Janiak shows off her incredible figure in a blue swimsuit.

With the breeze blowing their blonde locks and the ocean waves crashing around their legs, the friends playfully splash around until they notice something suspicious on camera.

The two men both turn to the camera with stunned expressions on their faces before running back to their things.

Jumping over the ripples of the water, the women try to run back and are heard screaming as they return to the sand.

With just their legs in the camera’s view, they leap forward before the footage cuts to a surprising “crook” holding something that doesn’t belong to them.

Perched high on a rock, a brown baboon holds in its hands what appears to be a packet of red chips.

Schmidt zooms in on the primate munching on the snacks he bought, straight out of the runner’s bag.

The hairy thief can be seen using his nimble fingers to snatch the food before brazenly eating it without a care in the world.

The thief was a cheeky baboon that munched on the runners’ food while perched on a rock.

Schmidt competes in the 400m events with the German athletics team and was part of the group that traveled to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Schmidt shared the hilarious footage on her TikTok, where she has two million followers.

The athlete, dubbed “the sexiest athlete alive”, also has five million followers on Instagram where she regularly posts photos and clips of herself preparing for races and track events.

She represents her country in the 400m events and was part of the German relay team that went to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics – although she did not compete.

Janiak, 26, also races for Germany and is a one-time national champion and national indoor champion.

The thief baboon incident comes after Schmidt revealed last month how she rejected a huge sponsorship deal worth up to “six figures” because she “didn’t feel comfortable”.

She represents Hugo Boss, but claimed last year that her main salary comes from German sports foundation Sporthilfe, which pays her just £600 (€700) a month – and only because she competes for her national team, according to Picture.

But despite that modest base salary, Schmidt expressed her rejection of lucrative endorsement from a “well-known” company, saying she had to be “100 percent behind” a brand before joining it.

She said: “Two months ago I received an offer from a well-known brand. But I didn’t agree 100%. I don’t feel comfortable with that. That would have been six figures for a campaign.

Schmidt has previously spoken about an athlete’s struggles to generate a regular income, saying the money she receives for competing is not enough to live on.

“In principle, I have to say that it is not easy for most German track and field athletes to make a living from sport,” she told the German newspaper.
