The sex tapes of two Iranian politicians have been leaked on social media by activists trying to emphasize the hypocrisy of officials preaching morality under strict Islamic law.

The first video was posted online on August 4 and allegedly captured Ali Mohammad Ahmadi – the former governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad – who had sexual relations with a woman.

A second was leaked on August 9 and showed a naked Abbas Malekzadeh, the mayor of Sadra, who stroked a naked woman, according to FRANCE 24 Observers.

The video, presumably filmed by Malekzadeh, was shared with three other people from the city council four days after the politician was arrested for corruption.

Well-placed sources reportedly told local media that Ahmadi was founded by a foreign intelligence service trying to get him to travel to Canada and participate in a TV program critical of the Iranian government.

They claimed that the four-minute video, believed to have been shot with a hidden camera, was subsequently shared because of Ahmadi's refusal.

A close associate of Ahmadi has sworn that the woman in the video is & # 39; legitimate woman according to Islamic law & # 39; used to be.

Critics, however, said the woman, who appeared online in a second, eight-minute video on August 6, was definitely not his wife. It was later reported that she works for an Iranian airline.

Ahmadi has been described as a reformist and centrist and has close ties with President Hassan Rouhani's government.

He recently resigned from his position as governor to campaign for the February 2020 parliamentary elections.

An Iranian journalist, who did not want to reveal her real name, spoke to the publication about the country's response to sex tapes.

"People see these videos as just more evidence of the hypocrisy of government officials. These men of course have the right to have sexual relations … but the men in question are officials of the Islamic Republic, a country with moral police that arrest people for dating outside of marriage.

"About ten years ago, a sex tape leaked with an actress on a popular TV series. It has destroyed her life. She was arrested, eventually left Iran and moved to France.

& # 39; Because the men in the video are & # 39; s politicians, they are unlikely to have legal consequences for their actions. This hypocrisy makes people so angry, not their sex life. & # 39;

The journalist referred to Zahra Amir Ebrahimi, who made a 20-minute private tape with her boyfriend and published it on the internet in 2006 and released it as a DVD, to the anger of millions in Iran.

The sex tapes released with politicians are the first time this has happened since the Islamic Republic of Iran was founded in 1979.

But it is not the first scandal to hit civil servants, because in 2007 Reza Zarei, the chief of police in Tehran, was arrested in a brothel with six women.

He spent four months in prison before retiring early.
