A serial killer convicted of the murder of two children and a young woman broke his 26-year-old silence to maintain that "it has nothing to do with taking three innocent lives."
Alejandro & # 39; Alex & # 39; Henríquez, now 57, was sentenced to 75 years, equivalent to three consecutive life sentences, in 1992 after being found guilty of killing Jessica Guzmán, 10, Shamira Bello, 14, and Lisa Ann Rodríguez, 21.
The inmate sat with Piers Morgan in the New York prison where he has lived for the past three decades, where he denied his involvement and accused the NYPD of making him a "scapegoat" in the ITV Serial Killers series.
Piers Morgan went behind bars at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in New York State for an exclusive interview with Henriquez, who continues to maintain his innocence.
Piers Morgan visits Sullivan Correctional Facility in New York State to meet with convicted serial killer Alejandro Henriquez, who broke his nearly 30 year silence on the ITV Serial Killers series to maintain his innocence after being convicted of killing three young boys
However, Piers later identified psychological clues in the behavior of the Bronx serial killer who offered an explanation of his motives.
While sitting with the presenter, an agitated Henriquez said: "I'm not paid for the interview, I'm not here because I want to meet you."
Let's go back to the fact that you're a liar, cheating, whatever you want to call me, it's fine … That has nothing to do with taking three innocent lives.
The heartbreaking documentary explores how the national protest after the death of 10-year-old Jessica Guzmán in 1990 caused the NYPD to form a task force to investigate the chain of murders that had plagued the Bronx for two years.
Nobody suspected that Alejandro Henríquez, a successful local businessman, would become the police's main suspect, but when the investigation began, Henríquez caught the attention of the New York Police.
He was the last person who saw him with young Jessica and was well known to the other victims.

Piers had the help of James Fitzgerald, an FBI legend and the man responsible for catching the 90th-century terrorist The Unabomber & # 39; Theodore J. Kaczynski, while exploring the case.
Together, the couple analyzed the psychological clues in Alex's behavior, which offered clues to the murderer's motives.
Fitzgerald explained: "Psychopaths like control, they do not want to be controlled, they want to control others and they will do everything in their power, through lies, manipulation, even violence to transmit those points.
"For them, it just makes sense because it's what took them so far in life in a kind of successful way to survive."
Alex Henriquez was finally convicted of the murder of Jessica and the other two. He maintains that the NYPD made him a scapegoat and that he is an innocent man.
Alex Henriquez, convicted almost 30 years ago for murdering two 10 and 14 year old girls and a 21 year old woman in New York, has never spoken publicly about his crimes with Piers Morgan (photographed at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in the ITV Assassins series serially)
Fitzgerald added: "The fact that he went ahead with these young girls is a clue that maybe his sexual activities with women his age were not going the way he would have liked.
"Frankly, he could not have acted at times with them, so what he would end up doing is going back in his own psycho-sexual way towards these younger women and children, and that's how he would somehow gain control over them and satisfy your sexual needs & # 39;
Despite Pier's attempts to extract a confession from Henriquez, the criminal refused to show any remorse or acknowledge what he had done.
"My life has been destroyed, my family's life has been destroyed, and yet I am innocent," he protested. & # 39; It's been 28 years and we tend to overlook the evidence & # 39;
Serial Killer with Piers Morgan airs on ITV, Thursday at 9 p.m.
