Former President Donald Trump gave a fist pump to a crowd of supporters as he was escorted off the stage after shots were fired at his rally.
While it is unclear whether the former president was struck, Trump’s ear appeared to be covered in blood as he left the stage.
There also appeared to be some blood smeared on his face.
In a statement, Trump told supporters he was “doing fine.”
Secret security responded quickly after the shots were fired and immediately surrounded the president to isolate him and protect him from any possible gunfire.
Trump, clearly stunned, asked for his shoes before being escorted off stage by security.
Before leaving the stage, Trump defiantly shook his fist at the crowd.
The crowd, encouraged by Trump’s fist pump, erupted into chants of “USA! USA!”
As Trump was escorted to a waiting black vehicle, security personnel held his hands above his head to ensure he was safe.
In the background, some spectators cheered the president, while others groaned in horror.
After apparent gunshots rang out to the left of the stage during the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump and the entire crowd fell to the ground.
At the time the shots rang out, Trump was showing a graph showing border crossing numbers.
Trump’s MAGA hat appeared to fall off as he plopped down behind the podium. A conscientious Secret Service agent took it upon himself to pick it up and carry it away.
As Trump was ushered into the vehicle, he turned, faced the crowd and pumped his fist in the air.
After Trump got into the vehicle, soldiers and security officers stood in front of the car with their weapons drawn.
The protest in Butler, Pennsylvania is now officially a crime scene.
