More than £ 700,000 of jewelry belonging to a Saudi princess has been stolen from her at the Ritz in Paris.
The gems, for an estimated value of £ 713,000, were not in a safe when they were taken and there were no signs of forced entry.
The Saudi royal family without a name said that the robbery occurred on Friday afternoon.

Mark the second high profile heist at the five-star hotel in Place Vendome this year.
The brigade against organized crime in France has opened an investigation.
In January, an armed gang stole jewelery valued at around four million euros in shops inside the Ritz after breaking into the hotel and using axes to smash glass cases.
All the booties, some of which the thieves fell while trying to escape, were recovered.

Five men in hoods crossed reinforced glass cabinets in the hotel, near the elegant Place Vendome in the French capital, while the terrified guests watched.
Hotel guests described the "total panic attack" and some reported hearing shots as men assaulted display cases in the hotel's Reza jewelry store.
Shoppers alerted the police who descended to the scene and used Tasers while arresting three of the thieves before they could flee. But two gang members were able to escape with the massive booty.

Witnesses described a "total panic attack" and some reported hearing shots as the men assaulted the showcases at the hotel's Reza jewelry store.
One left the scene on a moped, hitting and injuring a woman while driving away at full speed, while the second left in a Renault Mégane next to the nearby Rue Saint-Honoré, according to local media.
The hotel is located next to the French Ministry of Justice, which is guarded by armed soldiers throughout the day.
Shots were heard when at least five assailants rushed to the five-star weapons coat, while the frightened staff and guests were to lie on the floor.
