Jay Blades of The Repair Shop has announced that his beloved uncle has been murdered.

The presenter, 54, took to Instagram on Tuesday where he revealed that he had just attended the funeral following the death of his uncle a few weeks ago.

Jay did not reveal details about the tragedy, but said he had to take some time off of his social media because the shock had left him feeling “a little messed up.”

The TV presenter said: “I hope you are all well.” This is something of a public service announcement.

‘I just attended my uncle’s funeral, he was murdered a few weeks ago. Honestly, super nice guy, it shouldn’t have happened to him, but it affected me a lot.

‘I feel a bit messy. So what I intend to do is this… I’m going to leave social media for a while and will come back in a moment. I’m going to go do therapy and just relax.
