Tom Brady was reluctant to divorce his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen because he feared he would have to endure the same co-parenting struggles he faced after his split from Bridget Moynahan, sources have claimed.
The NFL legend, 46, and Brazilian beauty Gisele, 43, who have two children together, announced they would divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
But even though they both moved on with new partners, Gisele broke down earlier this week when she compared her divorce to “the death of a dream” and admitted that raising Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, in Separate homes has been a challenge.
Now, sources have claimed Tom did not want to end the marriage because he was afraid of suffering a repeat of what happened. “stressful” experience of trying to raise children with another ex-partner.

“Tom would actually agree that co-parenting hasn’t been easy,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘A lot of love has been lost in their relationship and navigating through that and their careers and finding new love hasn’t been easy.
“It’s safe to say Tom and Gisele never expected to break up.”
Tom also shares Jack., 16 years old, with his ex-girlfriend Bridget. The couple separated in December 2007, just months before he began dating Gisele.
The source continued: “He never wanted a divorce, especially since he ended his relationship with Bridget, and dealing with that to get to good co-parenting took some time.” Doing it all over again has been stressful.”
The source insisted the former couple could eventually find their groove, adding: “It’s a sad situation because family is so important to both of them and not being a complete family leads to a lot of struggles down the line.”
“Like anything, they’ll get there because they won’t get back together, but Gisele and Tom have gone through a lot of sadness to be where they are now, which is so much better than it has been.”
The estranged couple reportedly feel they are reaching a particularly “interesting” time as co-parents as their children become young adults.
“While it may not be ideal, they are both determined to get there somehow,” they said. ‘They both agree that what matters is the benefit of their children, and (Gisele) was not lying when she said that they have good days and bad days. “It’s a process, especially before public opinion.”
Insiders have claimed that the duo have struggled to find balance when it comes to raising their children.
Gisele, 43, began dating the soccer star, 46, in 2007 before marrying in 2009. They announced they would divorce in October 2022 (pictured in 2013).
Clearly struggling with the fallout from her divorce, Gisele broke down during an interview with Good Morning America on Thursday.
Host Robin Roberts asked her how she was doing, to which Gisele responded: ‘How?Well, when you say…’ before collapsing.
He then walked away from the camera and said: ‘Sorry, guys. I don’t know. Can I have a moment?
Robin also asked the Brazilian beauty how she has been juggling co-parenting with Tom, to which she replied: “I think some days are easier than others and I can only control what I do.’
Last month she admitted that life as a single mother has had its challenges, during a conversation with harper’s bazaar for its cover published in the February 2024 Joy Edition.
She suggested that she and Tom parent in “two different ways” and that this may cause tension between her and her children.
“Sometimes I get rejection, especially because they are in two different homes now and there are two different ways,” she revealed.
“But I feel like I owe it to my children, for what my mother taught me.”
Gisele has since been linked to her new “boyfriend,” jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente, who is said to more or less live in her Florida mansion.

He later added that his experiences with love have made him realize “what I want and what I don’t want.”
Separately, Tom has moved on with supermodel Irina Shayk, 37, although a source told Page Six that he’s trying to focus much of his energies on “kids and work” while denying dating rumors. that he was already considering marrying again.
“Anything he says he wants to remarry is just made up,” the source said.
