Clarke Macbeth, 31, is running for Maple Grove City Council in the upcoming election, with eight candidates currently in the race.
Macbeth, who identifies himself as a furry character named Metro Mutt, is waging his campaign through an account on the left-wing social media site BlueSky.
In a post on BlueSky, Macbeth called himself “the most qualified candidate for Maple Grove City Council.”
His post continues: ‘The Minneapolis suburb of Maple Grove could use a hairy man on its city council because our local politicians have done too little for too long, as has Maple Grove Transit.

Macbeth wants to protect abortion rights and has apparently supported Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in their race for the White House.
According to his WikiFur page, he “unconditionally supports” Walz and “celebrates Minnesota’s advancements in LGBTQ+ rights, cultural diversity, and spiritual freedom.”
After Walz was chosen as vice president by Harris, he posted: ‘Congratulations Governor Walz! You’ve earned it! I’m proud of you, “Daddy”!’
In another recent post, he said: “Anyone who is not a Republican deserves to be very happy for the rest of their life.”
According to Macbeth, he will participate in a debate on October 8 organized by local news agency CCX Media.
