Rog Ally, the new portable gaming device from Asus, may get features like Quick Resume in the near future as per Microsoft’s statements.
At the Asus ROG Ally launch event (quoted The Verge), Roanne Sones, Head of Xbox Hardware, talked about the hardware and how to improve the experience. This includes being able to offer features like Quick Resume or something similar on Windows.
Microsoft implemented the Quick Resume feature exclusively on the Xbox Series X / S platforms, and this feature has not yet made its way to Windows PC.
“We’re thinking about the idea that you start playing on your PC, and then you want to take your ROG Ally with you, you want to pick up where you left off, and you want to be ready to play right away,” Sons said during the broadcast.
Microsoft is working on trying to improve Windows on gaming laptops, including the Steam Deck. The company has also recently experimented with a portable Windows mode for devices such as the Steam Deck, but the prototype was part of a hackathon project.
