A man who sexually abused his two stepdaughters while sleeping and filming the abuse has been detained for 10 years.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to 20 sexual offenses, including sexual assault, material for child exploitation, rape and indecent treatment of a child under 16 years of age.
The Queensland man benefited from the two girls while their mother was in poor health, according to the Queensland Times.
He would attack the girls while they were sleeping and filming the harmful abuse, the court told.

The predator even placed a hidden camera in one of the girls’ rooms.
He had abused one of the girls for eight years and hunted the other for five years.
One of the charges also related to the sister of the girls’ mother, who was 16 and 17 at the time of the abuse.
His abuse, which began when he was 22 and continued until he was 35, was only discovered when one of his stepdaughter tried to commit suicide.
One of the women told the court that the abuse had a lasting impact on her life and education after she was left with a post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
She revealed how she stopped her sister’s self-harm and took her out of the house.

“I have a conflict about how to pronounce how this crime has affected my life. The development of a child is fragile, “she told the court.
Her sister also spent time in a mental health care institution.
The man’s lawyer said he was very sorry and offered a formal apology for the damage he did.
He has spent seven months in prison since the man pleaded guilty. He was also admitted to hospital after an attack in prison.
The judge sentenced him to ten years in prison with a non-conditional release of eight years for the long-term abuse.
