Sarah Harris has explained how having children transformed her from a journalist with a bad habit chasing stories to a proud mother of two.
The Project presenter shares the story of her transformation in the new book Parenting in Progress by Mel Wilson, published by news.com.au.
‘When I started (on television), you had to chase a lot. “I was a pack-a-day smoker who was on the road knocking on people’s doors,” says the 42-year-old.
“I was like a real chain-smoking journalist. These children saved my life in many ways. There is a saying that goes: “Before children, life was black and white, but after children it becomes technicolor.”
He went on to explain that despite his impressive career, having a family is his greatest achievement.

“I think having children has been my creation and probably my greatest feat to date,” Sarah said.
“It’s one of the things I’m most proud of, something I feel very comfortable doing, even though I don’t do it well all the time.”
Harris announced her separation from her IT specialist husband, Tom Ward, in March 2021, after seven years of marriage.
The former couple share custody of their sons Paul, seven, and Harry, five.

“I think having children has been my creation and probably my greatest feat to date,” Sarah said.
Sarah is single and last year denied persistent rumors that she is dating Dr. Chris Brown.
Radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson were unconvinced by the reports, so they called Harris live to get answers on the spot.
—You know my aunt also called and checked. No, it’s nonsense,” Sarah said, adding that she “had no idea” where the tabloids got the story from.
“I haven’t even had my second coffee yet, you two,” Sarah laughed. “I’m too busy and bored (for this).”
