The Project’s Kate Langbroek is preparing to put her charming Melbourne cottage up for auction next month.

Located in St. Kilda, 7km from the CBD, the five-bedroom, two-bathroom vintage home has been put up for auction with a guide price of $2.5 million – $2.7 million.

The 59-year-old comedian has lived on the property with her four children and husband Peter Lewis for 16 years.

They are now preparing to move to a larger home just a few blocks away, the report said. Herald of the Sun on Friday.

Built in the 1850s, the property is a magnificent combination of Old World charm and sleek modern design.

Since moving in, Kate and her partner have made significant improvements to the property, including installing an extension.

Known as Fenagh Cottage, the property still maintains its classic facade and features a sunken ‘family room’ with gas fireplace opening onto a delightful entertaining terrace.

Meanwhile, the spacious modern kitchen features a breakfast bar and showcases a set of pendant lighting fixtures that offer a touch of retro 70s style.

There is also a private dining room, an underground wine cellar, and a second-floor bedroom that can be converted into a home office.

Other highlights include a spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room, a sculpted garden and a built-in trampoline.

This comes after speculation emerged last month that Kate was preparing to reunite with her former radio co-host Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes.

The pair last hosted the popular Hit FM show in 2019, before Langbroek stepped away from the show to move to Italy.

In July, the Herald Sun reported that Melbourne is abuzz with rumours that Langbroek and Hughes, 53, are preparing to bring back their show Hughesy and Kate.

Hughes and Langbroek first worked together in 2001 for Nova 100’s breakfast show in Melbourne.

Kate currently co-hosts the popular podcast The Buck Up with Nath Valvo after leaving her last commercial radio job at KIIS FM The Pick Up two years ago.

Last year she hinted at a possible radio reunion with Hughes.

“We are full of love for each other and nothing is off the table for us,” she told the Herald Sun last August.

“I love Hughesy. I’m not doing radio at the moment, but I’ll always love radio because it’s a natural medium for me.”

In March 2023, Langbroek issued a lengthy apology after publicly exposing a gender-based pay dispute between her and Hughes on The Project.

She claimed she earned 40 percent less than Hughesy during their time hosting Hughesy & Kate on the Hit Network for nearly two decades.

Clarifying her shocking admission on Instagram, Langbroek said she had not explained the full context of the situation due to “time constraints” on the Channel 10 show.

“I also didn’t explain that when he found out, Hughesy was mortified, appropriately shocked, and immediately tried to rectify the situation,” he admitted.

“I had already achieved parity, by the way, but his instincts were so honourable that he immediately offered to take a pay cut,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hughes was dealt a blow in August when 2 Day abruptly cancelled the Hughesy, Ed and Erin show after falling ratings.

However, there is growing speculation that one of the deciding factors for its cancellation was host Dave Hughes’ unwillingness to permanently move to another state.

The 53-year-old comedian was travelling from his home in Melbourne to host the 2Day FM breakfast show, which is recorded in Sydney.
