Married at First Sight expert John Aiken’s career revealed: ‘It taught me so many lessons’

John Aiken is best known for giving relationship advice to married couples at first sight.

However, the relationship specialist, 52, first tasted fame as a professional athlete during his respected career as a cricketer for New Zealand from 1989 to 2001.

Aiken was a left-handed batsman during his eleven years as a cricketer and played for Auckland and Wellington.

He recently revealed why he chose to hang the bat and become a relationship specialist.

‘I realized I wouldn’t do it as a cricketer,’ he said, ‘and I go all the way new idea.

I completely switched to relationships and private practice, and I was so glad I did. Then in 2014, I got an email to take a MAFS audition, and it changed my life.

John went on to acknowledge many of the key skills he learned as a cricketer well put to use in his later career as a Relationship Specialist.

Cricket has certainly taught me a lot of lessons about getting along in a team environment. She also taught me how to deal with challenges and adversities.

Earlier this month, John revealed the most popular question he’s been asked by fans of the social experiment.

The psychiatrist and marriage counselor told L.L.C tv update The podcast is constantly asked if the ninth show is “synthesized” or “programmed”.

While the program is heavily edited and post-production plays a major role in crafting the storylines, no aspect of MAFS is written or prepared in any way.

“Is this show scripted? Was it staged, John?” This is the most frequently asked question, he told broadcaster Benjamin Norris.

The answer is very clear: no it is not. The people in this experiment are very real and do these things. It’s a good representation of who they are, even when the camera isn’t on them.

He continued, “That’s one of the reasons it’s so compelling.” People don’t actually come across as involved in their everyday world, so they’re confused by it and think it’s not real, but it is.
