A brass porch pirate was surrounded by undercover officers after stealing a package from a front door in a dramatic police stab.
A doorbell security camera caught the thief who was arrested just after she had swept the box on a porch in Edmonton, the capital of the province of Alberta, in Canada.

As she looks around as she approaches the door, she waits for a moment before she takes a brown package and walks quietly away.

She barely gets to the end of the street before an unmarked police car stops and prevents her from crossing the road.
The woman appears to be confused, while another car drives up from a different direction, while a simply dressed police officer calls her to drop the package.

The police in the US and Canada have worked hard against so-called “porch pirates” that focus on unmanaged packages – which often contain vital drugs.
Officers are known to use tracking equipment to catch criminals in the act.
The clip, posted on Reddit, was outraged – with many users saying they had also been the victims of a portal pirate.
One user wrote: “I lost three miserable days of pain last week after a ** hole stole my medication from the post.”
