Australians traveling to Las Vegas for the historic NRL season-opening doubleheader will experience throwback times at Allegiant Stadium with local superstars from the late 90s and early 2000s performing at the event.

Members of hit band Human Nature will perform the national anthem for the Brisbane vs. Roosters clashes alongside Souths and Manly, while early 2000s EDM stars The Stafford Brothers will perform at halftime.

Brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney of Human Nature will kick off the show, singing the Australian and American national anthems, providing a touch of nostalgia for traveling Australians.

Formed in 1989 under the name 4 Trax while at Hurlstone Agriculture High in Sydney, the original line-up included Toby Allen, Phil Burton and the Tierney Brothers.

They gained early recognition for their smooth harmonies and vocal abilities, drawing inspiration from Motown and pop music.

The band was initially successful in Australia, but achieved international fame when they signed to Sony Music in 1995.

Their breakthrough came with the release of the album ‘Telling Everybody’ in 1996, which included hit singles such as ‘Wishes’ and ‘Don’t Say Goodbye’.

They achieved considerable success in Las Vegas with their residency at The Venetian Resort, performing classic Motown hits in their show ‘Human Nature: The Motown Show’.

The quarter became a trio in 2021 when Burton made the shock announcement that he will be stepping away from the group after more than 30 years.

Burton said he will continue performing with the group when they return to Australia for shows, but will not return to Las Vegas after the Covid-19 pandemic caused him to re-evaluate his priorities.

‘Covid put things in stark reality: where do you want to be? Where do you feel at home? And Australia is where we feel safest as a family,” he stated.

The Stafford Brothers are an Australian DJ and producer duo consisting of Matt and Chris Stafford.

The brothers began their career in the early 2000s, gaining recognition for their energetic DJ sets and remixes.

They gained widespread acclaim with tracks like ‘Hello’ and ‘Where Is the Love’, showcasing their ability to combine various EDM genres.

Making a significant impact in Australia, the Stafford brothers made a successful transition to the international stage, particularly in the United States.

They became the first Australians to sign a residency deal in Las Vegas, solidifying their status on the global EDM scene.

Meanwhile, the South Sydney stars met Australian star Kid Laroi in the United States, with the rapper and singer admitting he had always been a Bunnies supporter.

“I grew up in Waterloo and the Rabbitohs are in my blood,” he said.

“I love what the team represents and I’m excited that people in the United States will have the opportunity to see them play live in Las Vegas next weekend.”

Unfortunately for Kid Laroi fans, he is unable to perform or be present at NRL matches due to prior scheduling commitments.
