A violent criminal is on the run after alleged escape from his hospital bed to police custody.
The Queensland police are looking for 26-year-old Lui Tiaaleaiga, who fled Rockhampton Base Hospital on Saturday around 7 p.m. while under police surveillance.
The man was taken into custody for drug and weapon possession charges and had been treated when he escaped.
Tiaaleiaga also has a history of anger violations on the road, injuring two different drivers.
In January 2017, Tiaaleaiga reportedly ran a driver off the road before he hit him and left him with a broken jaw, according to The courier mail.
He was also accused of attacking a truck driver who sustained a broken ankle during a fight in March.
Tiaaleaiga was imprisoned in October 2018 after being found guilty of a series of offenses, including attacking a person over 60 years of age.
The police asked everyone with information to contact Policelink on 131 444.
Anyone who encounters the suspect is requested not to approach him and to call Triple Zero.
Taaleaiga is described as Pacific Islander, 188 cm, long dark curly hair and brown eyes, and wore a black shirt and shorts.
