A picturesque Hamptons town, home of Martha Stewart, has been outraged by plans to create a New York nightspot beloved by celebrities including Taylor Swift.
An attempt to replace the luxurious 18th-century Hedges Inn hotel in East Hampton with the popular Zero Bond social club sparked a backlash among residents.
The feuding residents attempted to stop the plans with multiple town hall meetings led by the town mayor.
After a series of meetings, they passed a new law that helped put plans for the club, which has hosted celebrities including Elon Musk, Tom Brady and Kim Kardashian, on hold.
Residents successfully instated an 11pm curfew for all “food and drink establishments” in the city, putting a damper on the night spot’s plans.

“If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s a duck, and ducks are not allowed here.”
But Zero Bond owner Scott Sartiano has now revealed he will be turning the hotel into a branch of his celebrity-magnet restaurant Sartiano’s.

‘You’ll have to wait and see.’
“I hope the authorities treat me the same as everyone else. My only focus this summer is Sartiano’s and staying at The Hedges Inn for a long time.”
East Hampton Village manager Baladrón said The Hollywood Reporter:’Mr Sartiano has watered down his proposal to make it simply an Italian restaurant, and if that is the case, we will roll out the red carpet for him.
“But if their ultimate goal is to open another Bono Cero, I think residents should be very careful.”
Sartiano’s is scheduled to open July 18 at the Hedges Inn.
