The wife of a pastor who took his own life appears in a new video detailing her struggles before her death.

Mica Miller, 30, was found dead in Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina on April 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Her death came days after serving divorce papers on her husband John Paul Miller, 44.

The pastor has been accused of grooming her for years before her marriage and putting her in a hospital to steal her car, according to court documents.

Footage has now emerged showing Miller apparently addressing close friends and family, alluding to his struggles before his death.

In the video, she can be heard saying, “I’ve had to keep my circle small for the past few weeks.”

‘I am going through a lot and it is difficult, and it is my cross that I must carry. It’s what God has put in my life to deal with.

‘I don’t want to involve too many people in this. When your world is rocked you need to pause, I can only pray that more people pause.

‘I’m trying to get my priorities straight right now, and that is making sure my heart is free of unforgiveness, bitterness or resentment.

‘Only forgiveness, hope for the future and peace, because you can’t put a price on peace.

‘Thank you for all your prayers and support, know that I have to keep my circle very small right now. This is the best way I know.’

In the days after her death, her friends and family held a rally calling for ‘justice for Mica’ outside the Solid Rock Church where Pastor Miller works.

The pastor shocked his parishioners last week when, after a service in which he laughed and seemed completely calm, he announced that his wife had died.

Miller, who has a criminal record that includes multiple counts of assault and aggravated assault to which he pleaded guilty, told his congregation that his death was “self-induced.”

“You all know that she was not well mentally and that she needed her medication and that it was difficult to get to her,” he said.

Before making the announcement, he asked his flock to stand and ordered them to “leave the church quietly and not speak about the announcement here in the building.”

Weeks before her death, she shared a video talking about abuse within the marriage as claims emerged that she was being harassed and “feared for her life.”

She said: ‘My heart is a little heavy today. I’ve had a lot of women contact me about abusive situations, and I just want to tell you what a lot of people have told me lately, because I think I forgot.

‘But you are the bride of Christ before anyone else, whether male or female, no matter what gender you are, abuse is abuse.’

Court records hint at tumult within the marriage: Mica first filed for divorce in October 2023 before withdrawing the request on February 12.

Later that same month, Miller filed a lawsuit against his wife for child support and separate maintenance in a motion withdrawn on March 11.

But on April 15, just 12 days before she was found dead, Mica filed a new lawsuit and, according to her friends, also requested a no-contact order against her husband.

A police report obtained by DailyMail.com shows that Miller also contacted officers accusing her husband of sharing an indecent photo of her in a Facebook group called “big boobs and pretty curves.”

Mica's friends Kenn and Allicia Young spoke to NewsNation and said they do not believe the pastor's wife took her own life.

An obituary written by him also described his wife as “a great stepmother and an incredible wife and partner” and described her as his biggest cheerleader.

Miller had called authorities before taking his own life, telling them: “I’m about to kill myself and I just want my family to know where to find me.”

Family and friends have insisted that Miller did not take his own life; Her sister Sierra Brown previously told DailyMail.com that “there is still an open investigation.”

Her friend Allicia Young, who is a member of Solid Rock Church along with her husband Kenn, said: “I don’t believe at all that she took her life.”

“I don’t believe at all that she took her life because she was energetic and her faith in God was unwavering,” Allicia said in Banfield.

“She was always quick to encourage someone else, including me. We went to lunch together and worked out together.

Evidence released by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office as part of its investigation conclusively shows that Miller was plotting to end his life.
