The parents of the groom book an outing at the same resort as the wedding couple

The in-laws from hell! The parents of the groom book a holiday at the same resort as the newlyweds on their honeymoon – DO INSIST to do joint activities and eat every meal together

  • A redditor said her new in-laws treated her and her husband to a one-week stay at a resort
  • When they arrived on the first day, they discovered that her in-laws were also staying there
  • The in-laws wanted to spend most of the trip together and would knock on their door at 6 am.
  • When the groom accused them of invading, his parents said they had paid for the trip and had the right to be there
  • The couple escaped late at night to stay in another hotel in another city – without telling the parents of the groom

A few newlyweds were grateful when the groom’s parents treated them to a one-week honeymoon at a resort – but soon became less than excited when they heard that his parents were staying there at the same time.

A woman from Bristol who posts as u / honeymoonfromhell on Reddit last week said that she and her new husband were initially excited about the free honeymoon.

But when they got there, they discovered that her in-laws also spent the week at the hotel, expecting all four of them to spend most of the trip together and eating their meals as a group.

The Redditor posed while he was still on honeymoon when she and her husband figured out what to do.

“My husband and I are on a honeymoon,” she wrote two days after the trip. “His parents gave us a week in an all-inclusive hotel at no cost to us as a wedding gift, and we were really grateful.

“On arrival we found that they had reserved a room at this hotel all week and wanted to do things for the group.”

“It’s not like they’re in the next room or something, and we can still do things alone in our room. But they regularly knock on our door, wake us up at 6 o’clock in the morning and ensure that we get all 3 meals a day with them. ‘

The bride added that she usually only sees her husband’s parents two or three times a year, and they don’t really love her.

“We tried to tell them we wanted” just time “for our honeymoon, and they took us away and said that’s what our room is for.

“We also tried to eat fake disease to eat with them and they just got room service to our room and sat with us while we were fake.”

Fortunately, the groom was just as irritated by the stunt his parents drew, and finally came to a point where he “snarled” and told him they were “far beyond the line” and “had no right to make up for our honeymoon,” of all things. “

“They told us that they paid for this whole thing and that as adults we can take a vacation to the same place at the same time.”

The couple felt miserable enough that they decided to leave. The bride said that they had saved enough to pay for their own honeymoon and that had been planned when his parents surprised them.

They decided to take the late night train to a nearby town for the remaining three days of their honeymoon – and made sure they didn’t tell her in-laws before they left.
