He’s survived a zombie apocalypse, led a notorious Brummie crime family and even fathered the atomic bomb, but one could be forgiven for overlooking the bearded actor as he wandered down a quiet Bath street on Wednesday.
Surrounded by a small production crew, he was busy filming scenes for his latest movie, Steve, in which he plays a principal struggling to maintain the integrity of his school as it faces possible closure.
As principal photography wrapped in the picturesque seaside resort town, the actor was spotted with a hood over his head as he wandered down the street in a dirty shirt.
His usually recognizable face was also streaked with dirt, while a graying beard made his famously chiseled features difficult to discern.
On a cloudy day in Bath, a crew member held an umbrella over the actor’s head as he waited between takes – but can you guess who it is?

That’s right, it’s Cillian Murphy!
The Oscar-winning star was filming his final scenes on the set of his next project, a Netflix adaptation of the 2023 novel Shy by author Max Porter.
Murphy, best known for his role as gang boss Tommy Shelby in the BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders, plays a headmaster in charge of a school for children with social and behavioural difficulties.
The upcoming film, retitled Steve for Netflix, is being developed by Murphy’s own production company, Big Things Films.

Murphy is perhaps best known for his role as gang boss Tommy Shelby in the BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders.
The original Peaky Blinders writing and directing team will return alongside Cillian Murphy for the Netflix film adaptation of the show, the streaming service has confirmed.
Co-writer Tom Harper shared: ‘When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know there was something about the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive.
‘Peaky has always been a story about family, so it’s incredibly exciting to reunite with Steve and Cillian to bring the film to audiences around the world on Netflix.’
Meanwhile, Steven added: “I’m really excited that this movie is about to come to fruition. It’s going to be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Peaky Blinders in the middle of war.”
In March, Steven thrilled fans after confirming Cillian would star in the film during an appearance on BirminghamWorld for the premiere of his BBC show This Town.
He said: “(Cillian) will definitely be back. We’re filming it in September, right next to Digbeth.”
The film will begin filming at Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham in September and will be set during World War II.
