The NRL has been rocked by a drugs scandal which resulted in an arrest at Suncorp Stadium involving police sniffer dogs.
At Brisbane’s Magic Round, almost 150,000 fans came through the gates over three days of football, but one spectator was allegedly caught with cocaine last Friday.
The person allegedly in possession of the drugs was reportedly a guest of a Canterbury Bulldogs sponsor, who shelled out $10,000 for an official NRL Magic Round corporate package.

Queensland Police confirmed that a man, aged 37, was arrested at the scene, and the entire corporate suite on the east side of Suncorp Stadium was evacuated on the spot.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested at the NRL Magic Round on Friday 17 May 2024 for suspected drug possession,” a police spokesperson said. News Corporation.
Suncorp staff members were reportedly suspicious of alleged illegal activity in the suite, prompting a call to stadium security.
Queensland Police sniffer dogs were sent in and allegedly discovered a bag of cocaine.
Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting that Canterbury’s sponsor, or the Bulldogs club, are guilty of any wrongdoing.
Queensland Police told Daily Mail Australia that no charges have been laid in the matter at this time.

Canterbury chief executive Aaron Warburton was notified of the alleged incident.
“The Bulldogs have been made aware of an alleged incident involving a guest in a private suite at Magic Round,” he said.
‘It is our understanding that the matter in question has been referred to Queensland Police.
‘It is important to note that the incident did not involve any registered employees or officials.
“The Bulldogs will fully cooperate with the relevant authorities if they wish to review the matter further and remind all patrons to respect stadium policies in accordance with the values of our game.”
