The Nintendo Switch is finally getting a $ 10 calculator app

We are in a relatively quiet period for Switch releases as we wait for Skyward Sword‘s remaster is due out in July. Fortunately, today marks the arrival of a new one $ 10 calculator app on Nintendo’s console, so your machine won’t collect too much dust for the next few months. Hell yes. Math.

The app, that was spotted by Eurogamer, literally just called “Calculator” and published by Sabec. It’s single-player, which unfortunately excludes any team-based calculation, and it works in TV and handheld modes, according to the product page. We would be remiss if we didn’t point out that the app bears a striking resemblance to the The old iPhone calculator app, but because it’s charity work, it’s possible that the app is only guilty of drawing inspiration from Dieter Rams’ classic design.

Unlike Sony and Microsoft consoles, and even Nintendo’s previous machines, the Switch doesn’t have many non-gaming apps. It doesn’t have Netflix, Spotify, or those other pieces of software that we’re used to appearing on just about any piece of electronics with a screen. But now it finally has a calculator app. Thank God.
