Just eight months later, Julia lost a whopping 11 pounds to take her from 66.6 pounds to 55 pounds – and even better, she’s managed to keep the weight off ever since.

“I’m in the best shape of my life,” said Julia The healthy mama.

“So much weight has been lost and I have gained so much happiness and confidence.”

When it came to weight loss, Julia ended up in Australia’s leading weight loss program, The Healthy Mummy, after going through their thousands of body transformations.

“I had seen some great transformations there, so I joined a local running group and a boot camp and started following the meal plans on the Healthy Mummy website,” Julia told FEMAIL.

“It was intimidating to sign up for the boot camp because I already had a negative attitude and because I didn’t do any exercises, I was afraid I was too inadequate and would stop people.”

But Julia overcame her fears and noticed a change in her body within three weeks of doing boot camp and eating differently.

“I saw the results very quickly. About three months later I started shopping for clothes and I could see and feel the difference, “she said.

The mom of two said one of the biggest things that affected a change in her body was cutting back on sugar.

On a typical day on her mother’s plate, Julia enjoys a smoothie with berries, bananas and oats for breakfast before eating a cup of tea and some Greek yogurt with fruit mid-morning.

“Lunch is left over from the night before, so something like chicken and a salad,” said Julia.

In the mid-afternoon, she enjoys some boiled eggs, nuts or rice crackers with peanut butter, before eating a Mexican lasagna or a jar of bolognese for dinner – some of her favorite dishes.

“I also drink about three liters of water a day, which makes my skin look much healthier and smoother,” she said.

Unhealthy desserts and ice cream have been replaced with fruit and natural yogurt to make her enjoy something sweet.

Speaking of her tips for others looking to start a weight loss journey, Julia told The Healthy Mummy that one of the things that helped her the most was taking progress photos while losing weight.

“I’m glad I took before and after pictures because even if the scales aren’t moving, I can still see the process and know I’m moving in the right direction,” she told the publication.

“I had to learn that scales don’t always tell the truth, and now I’d rather go over my progress photos to think about my performance.”

Julia also said that you should have a motivation sign somewhere in your house so you know what your goals are and how far you’ve come.

“A big thing for me is changing my training routine regularly so that I stay motivated,” said the 36-year-old.

“It doesn’t always have to be a walk, run or a gym. Jumping on the trampoline, dancing with your kids or running around with your kids in the play center is a great way to stay active – and it’s a lot of fun too. ‘

Julia strives for a mix of strength and cardio with her workouts, alternating walks and running with compound movements such as step-ups, squats and lunges.

She also keeps moving all day, squatting and swinging around doing chores and taking care of her kids.

Now Julia urges women to stop comparing themselves and focus on their own journeys, as “every progress is great” (pictured before and after)

Now Julia urges women to stop comparing themselves and focus on their own travels.

“Any progress is great and never get discouraged if your scales don’t move, because that doesn’t mean you’re not performing,” she told FEMAIL.

“Our mothers are so much more capable than we think, and if I can do it, I promise you can do it too.

“Go for it, it will change your life.”
