Sweet-smelling winds blow through the palm trees in the huge Julio Iglesias villa in the Dominican Republic, and his needs are attended by a permanent staff of around 40.
He enjoys using other properties around the world, including a huge path in Miami and another huge country house in the hills above Marbella. A private plane takes him to concerts around the world.
Now 75 years old and worth £ 250 million, he lives there in absolute luxury with second wife Miranda, 53, and their five children, ages 12 to 22.
Julio Iglesias also has three adult children – including the singer Enrique – from his first marriage. However, we now know that his offspring includes a ninth child – Javier Sanchez Santos (photo) – who ruled a court this week, is also the son of Julio
He also has three adult children – including the singer Enrique – from his first marriage.
However, we now know that his offspring includes a ninth child – Javier – who has ruled a court this week, is also the son of Julio.
Fernando Osuna, lawyer for Javier's mother, said: & The judge's decision has now entered Julio Iglesias' Spanish registry as Javier's biological father.
& # 39; This means that Julio must take responsibility if Javier has an illness or is living in poverty. It also means that Javier will have a claim to inheritance. & # 39;
The ruling could indeed have serious financial consequences for the star, more later.
According to the court's verdict, Javier was born after his ballet dancer mother Maria Edite had walked for a week in 1975 with Julio, a famous Casanova who previously boasted that she had to swallow 3,000 women.

Javier, now 43, lives in a modest apartment in Valencia and dreams of making him a singer while working in a sports nutrition store. He has fought for 30 years to be recognized.
His lawyer tells me: & # 39; Javier is finally at peace. & # 39;
Although Julio & # 39; s legal team continues to refuse paternity – the singer has 17 business days to appeal to the court's ruling – his reputation as a female killer doesn't help.
& # 39; I have been with so many beautiful girls in my life & # 39 ;, said Julio. & # 39; I have loved and respected women since I was 15 years old. & # 39;
He was sold as the last major Latin enthusiast by his record company, enjoying worldwide fame from the mid-1980s with his romantic ballads.
He complained in an interview: & # 39; I came to London and my manager told me: & # 39; The newspapers all claim that Julio has been with 3000 women & # 39 ;. I said, "Don't tell anyone it's not true." Ha ha! Now we are in 2014, the number must reach 20,000! & # 39;
He added: & # 39; I have no numbers. I respect women very much. I learn from women, I love women. & # 39;
The audience Julio only has toothpaste smiles and great memories of all the girls he once loved.
But the private person is a different story according to Javier and his mother Maria.
Julio's legal team continues to deny paternity – the singer has 17 business days to appeal to the court's decision. Pictured at Harrods, London, when he opened his new Sound & Vision department and signed copies of his Crazy album in 1994
For three decades she fought to have her child recognized as the son of Julio and throughout the story the singer did not sue her.
His officials in America this week refused to make any comment about the lawsuit or its outcome. The wall of silence continues. She speaks to the newspaper this week and exclaims: & # 39; Julio has not met his son once. He has never contacted either of us. What kind of man does that? We have suffered so much and experienced so many problems – we have gone through terrible times. & # 39;
The story begins in 1975 when the Portuguese ballet dancer Maria Edite was booked to perform in a cabaret in Girona, Spain. Julio Iglesias was also on the bill, then married to his Filipino first wife Isabel. According to her, the attraction was mutual and immediate.
She said, "I knew he was married, but we spent our time together, going to the beach together in the afternoon, having dinner together after the show, and spending nights in his rented chalet."
Maria says that Javier (photo) was bullied and taunted at school, while his peers did not believe that his father was the internationally known singer
Maria claims that he was her first lover. After the cabaret was over, she said he gave her jeans to remember him.
When she realized she was pregnant, she tried to contact the singer, but she never received an answer.
After the birth of Javier she tried to keep in touch, but she was only met with silence.
Julio Iglesias had son Enrique with his first wife in May 1975 – which means that at the time of the alleged affair he would have had a baby and two toddlers, daughter Chabeli and Julio Jnr.
It was impossible for Maria to continue working as a ballet dancer when she was pregnant. After Javier was born, she finally served paella in a small filthy restaurant in Valencia.
The money was tight. They lived in an apartment in a block near the harbor, just next to the street of a hotel.
Edite Santos (photo yesterday) and her son Javier have finally won their battle against the singer. Maria claims that he was her first lover. After the cabaret was over, she said he gave her jeans to remember him
She said this week: & When Julio and I met, we were both stars. We were equal artists when we met in July 1975 in the Las Vegas de Sant Feliu de Guixols in Girona.
& # 39; But when I became pregnant, I had to give up as a ballet dancer. Julio has destroyed my dreams. It is always the woman who has to pick up the pieces.
& # 39; We have gone through terrible times. Being a ballet dancer, I had to work long hours in a restaurant to make ends meet to feed my family.
& # 39; I was told that Julio once asked me, and my former colleague & # 39; s told him he had a son in Valencia, but he never contacted either of us. What kind of man behaves this way? Not showing up for a court summons? What is that? & # 39;
She says that Javier was bullied and taunted at school with his peers who did not believe that his father was the internationally known singer.
She got married and had another son, a street artist. Now divorced, she lives in the Cabanyal district in Valencia, near the port.
Her first attempt at legal action came in 1990 when she filed a paternity file in Valencia. Javier was 13. Julio & # 39; s lawyers denied paternity and he refused to take a test.
Undeterred, Maria took Javier to a concert by Julio Iglesias, but failed to present them. She said: & # 39; When Javier was 13, we went to see Julio Iglesias perform live. I went to bring his long lost son to him, but I could not see him. & # 39;
The following year the singer said in an interview – rather ungallantly: & # 39; I wouldn't have time to sing if I had to do a paternity test every time a girl says I made her pregnant. & # 39;

In 1992, the court found that Javier was the son of Julio. His lawyers had overturned this judgment on appeal. When Julio & # 39; s son Enrique launched his hugely successful singing career in 1995, Javier decided the time was right to launch his own pop career.
He released two solo albums under the name Javier Iglesias, one of which titled & # 39; Soy Como Tu & # 39 ;, which means & # 39; I am like you & # 39; – a message to his father. Neither of them were successful. He then started working as a DJ in Valencia and Ibiza.
In 2007, Maria and Javier returned to the battle, this time asking lawyer Fernando Osuna to represent them.
Osuna said: & # 39; He has not had the money to pay legal fees, but has been greatly helped by gifts from friends, family, and neighbors. & # 39;
Osuna was famous in Spain as the man who proved that the legendary bullfighter El Cordobes was the father of another popular matador.
The lawsuit seized Spain – and was proven after a napkin used by El Cordobes was DNA tested and showed that there was a 99.9 percent probability that he was the father.
This strategy was used again in the Julio Iglesias case, with Osuna hiring private glasses in 2017 to get some Iglesias DNA.

This was done by throwing away a water bottle that was discarded by Julio's eldest son, Julio Jr., in Miami, Florida while surfing.
Osuna said: & # 39; In May 2017, we managed to prove with a bottle of Julio Jose's water that Javier was his brother, with 99 percent certainty. Moreover, the birth of Javier was exactly nine months after the eight-day period in which Maria met Julio in Girona. & # 39;
With this evidence, another paternity case was brought in 2017, with the verdict finally this week. The judge in the case refused to admit the DNA evidence, but found that Maria had provided credible details about her affair with the singer, including descriptions of the chalet he had rented.
He also mentioned the physical similarity between Julio Iglesias and Javier Sanchez Santos.
Fernando Osuna said: & Javier is extremely happy, calm and finally at peace. I have worked on more than 500 paternity cases, but when the father is as famous as Julio Iglesias, satisfaction reaches inexplicable heights.
& # 39; More than anything else, what Javier feels is safety. Can you imagine how he suffered without the support of a father? Can you imagine the children asking him in the playground, "Where is your father?" "Why is he never around?" It is peace to know who his father is. & # 39;
I can also reveal that the decision of the Spanish court on Wednesday paves the way for further legal action. Because Maria's lawyer says that the family now plans to summon Julio for the distress he has caused. It is also possible that Javier tries to claim his legacy, just like the eight children that Julio acknowledges.
As for Maria and Javier, their 30-year struggle can best be described as a lesson in absolute perseverance. Maria said: & I cannot describe the happiness we feel after fighting for so many years. For Javier, his entire world has changed. & # 39; Shown together on July 4
Fernando Osuna said: & We will now claim moral, psychological and spiritual damage from Julio Iglesias. We will also ask for compensation, because Javier has suffered so much. & # 39;
How much will they ask? Osuna does not say, but the singer can expect that the sum will be easily executed in seven digits.
This will prove to be a sour coda for a 50-year gilded career in which Iglesias has sold 300 million albums and received a lifelong Grammy performance and a French Legion of Honor medal.
Last month, Julio, who had been a professional football player and only recorded a guitar to spend time after sustaining a serious back injury in a car accident, said about his career: & # 39; is an act of discipline and of absolute passion. & # 39;
Certainly, his passion has never been questioned.
As for Maria and Javier, their 30-year struggle can best be described as a lesson in absolute perseverance.
Maria said: & I cannot describe the happiness we feel after fighting for so many years. For Javier, his entire world has changed.
& # 39; But my victory is that I am exactly the same person, because I always knew that Julio was his father. My right is that I have always told the truth. & # 39;
