Despite the intensive treatment in the pediatric unit of the hospital, Keilin was declared dead three days later on Monday at 9 a.m., and the corresponding death certificate was issued.

Ivis, with a broken heart, left the hospital with her supposedly dead baby in her arms and went to a cousin's house.

She said: "I did not have money to get home."

After a candle lit during the night, Keilin was taken to the church in the vicinity of Dos Caminos for her funeral.

Keilin was immediately taken to the intensive care unit where she is said to be in a serious condition.

The director of the Pediatric Department of the hospital, Elba Campos, said that the incident was being investigated, but that it was too early to reach any conclusion.
