Tributes have come in for a two-year-old boy who was killed by two dogs on Tuesday at a motel in central west NSW, as investigators work to determine whether charges will be filed over the incident.
The boy, who has since been identified as toddler Jyedon Pollard, was attacked by the dogs shortly after 10 a.m. at the Country Gardens Motor Inn on Grenfell Road in Cowra.
The child had serious injuries to his face and neck and a member of the public had already taken him to Cowra Hospital when police arrived.
He was flown to Westmead Hospital in critical condition, but died in the afternoon.
Police detectives, along with the municipality, are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack to determine whether charges will be filed against the incident.
The two dogs — a Rottweiler and a drover dog, according to Nine News — have been seized by the council.
Investigators will look at whether the dogs were previously considered dangerous and what triggered the attack.
After the attack on Tuesday, NSW Police Inspector Bob Noble said there was immediate concern that the child would not survive the incident.
