Revealed: Fundsmith Equity, Lindsell Train Global Equity and Scottish Mortgage topped the list of bestseller funds from the Isa season
- Investors with the largest British platforms opted for big-name funds this year
- We have viewed Isa bestsellers on three of the largest DIY platforms in the UK
- Please note: past performance is not an indicator of future results
British investors stacked money on long-term growth funds and investment funds when the tax year ended early April, new analyzes show.
Fundsmith Equity and Lindsell Train Global Equity funds made the bestseller list with DIY investors Hargreaves Lansdown, Interactive Investor and AJ Bell in the first quarter of 2019 and had seduced investors with their great returns.
It was a similar story in the investment confidence sector, with industry confidence, Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust and City of London Investment Trust, as a common thread over the three platforms.
Fundsmith, managed by Terry Smith, has returned a whopping 333 percent in just over eight years since its launch (until April 22, 2019), converting an investment of £ 1,000 to £ 4,330, according to FE Analytics Investments.
Remember that good past performance does not always mean positive results in the future
Lindsell Train Global Equity, led by Nick Train and launched four months later in April 2011, has risen 279 percent and has cost £ 1,000 to £ 3,790 since its inception.
To put this in perspective, the MSCI World index benchmark and the average actively managed global fund in which a fund manager chose cherry for equities returned 84 percent and 66 percent respectively in the same period.
Few would argue that both are among the best funds scouring international stock markets in search of the best growth opportunities in the market.

Other popular funds during the Isa season were Baillie Gifford American, which performs well in the North American sector in three years, and Vanguard's one-stop-shop Lifestrategy fund range.

Moira O & # 39; Neill, Head of Personal Finance at Interactive Investor, says: & # 39; Isa 'top choices from 2018/19 show a strong element of investors who hold on to solid, proven names and brands.
& # 39; Among funds and investment funds, it is those with a clear, well-communicated strategy, combined with strong long-term performance, that attract the majority of the pie time and time again. & # 39;
She added: & # 39; They make it look so easy, but with the same names that appear again and again, many would like to know the secret. & # 39;
