The month of June is filled with many blockbusters and upcoming films, which are distinguished by their great diversity. There are horror movies like The Boogeyman, superhero movies that will launch new universes like The Flash, or open up a multiverse like Across the Spider-Verse. The Transformers series is getting another new prequel movie (after 2018’s Bumblebee, set in the 1980s), which takes heavy inspiration from the Beast Wars saga. Set in 1994, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts follows a group of Brooklyn archaeologists who encounter Autobots and become embroiled in an ancient conflict between three factions: the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons. All of this is happening as the planet-annihilating Unicron makes its way to Earth. Anthony Ramos and Dominic Fishback star in the film, while new robots include Mirage, Arcee and Optimus Primal.

Pixar’s latest film takes us to a city where fire, water, earth and air live together. When fiery young girl Ember (Lea Lewis) meets voluptuous boy Wade (Mamodu Athe), they discover one key thing: how much they have in common despite being raised to believe the elements can’t be mixed with each other. Also starring in the film are Wendy McClendon-Covey and Catherine O’Hara.
The Flash

How Barry Allen will shatter the multiverse (inspired by the Flashpoint comic) will now be explored on the big screen in The Flash, which will bring out Batman played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, plus Supergirl played by Sasha Kaley, all in the name of protecting Earth. A free alternate Superman from General Zod’s invasion of the Man of Steel. The Flash has a lot of work to do, being the movie that will officially usher us into the DCU multiverse and James Gunn’s renewed Gods & Monsters stage.

Extraction, the 2020 film that was the directorial debut of stuntman Sam Hargrave in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, returns with a sequel and a high-stakes, adrenaline-filled quest for mercenary Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth). This time co-starring Olga Kurylenko from Quantum of Solace and Black Widow, Rick is given a mission to rescue a family at the mercy of a Georgian gangster, which requires him to infiltrate one of the most dangerous prisons in the world.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Finally comes the highly anticipated sequel to the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie (after a delay of several months), which continues the adventure of Miles Morales as Spidey, and delves deeper into the multiverse filled with other spider characters. Shamick Moore, Hailee Steinfeld and Jake Johnson return as Miles, Gwen and Peter P. Parker, while they are joined by Essa Ray and Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Woman and Spider-Punk. Oscar Isaac also returns, after appearing as a guest star in Into the Spider-Verse, as Spider-Man 2099, the self-appointed protector of the multiverse who clashes with Miles’ optimism.
No Hard Feelings

Starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, this romantic comedy tells the story of a penniless taxi driver who is hired by the parents of a shy teenage boy to become his “girlfriend”.
