Prince George is not expected to serve in the military before becoming King, breaking centuries of tradition, the Mail on Sunday reported last year.
However, one young royal is keen to sign up.
I can reveal that Alexander Ogilvy, who has been described as “the sexiest British royal you’ve never heard of”, is joining the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst this weekend.
Alex, 27, is the grandson of Princess Alexandra, a first cousin and lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth.
His sister, Flora Vesterberg, has expressed her pride at his joining the armed forces. “We admire you deeply,” she writes online. “Always caring and inspiring.”
Alexander Ogilvy attends the engagement service of Queen Elizabeth II at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on September 19, 2022 in Windsor.
He holds a double degree in computer science and economics from the Ivy League Brown University in the US, where he dated Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo (pictured together in 2017). His mother, Kerry, is the daughter of assassinated presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy.

Alex, head boy at Edinburgh’s £43,500-a-year Merchiston Castle School, was a standout pupil, achieving A and A grades in his exams.

They have since split and Alex has been romantically linked to ‘It Girl’ Isabella Charlotta Poppius.
Until now, Alex worked in New York at the technology company Prove, which helps companies enable customers to verify their identity.
Once, when an interviewer asked him what three words best described him, he jokingly replied, “A fraudulent and insecure man.”
He later said that one of his favorite pastimes outside of work was “practicing my British accent.”
