New footage has emerged showing the alleged moment Spencer Leniu directed a racial slur at his football rival Ezra Mam.
On Monday, the NRL match review committee charged the 23-year-old Roosters forward with contrary conduct and referred him directly to the NRL judiciary after mum alleged the Roosters star called him ” bun”.
Instead of outright denying the allegation, Leniu told Triple M after the match: “NoI think it’s all fun and games when we’re on the field. That’s all.’
When asked further about whether he was worried about the possible consequences, Leniu replied: “I’m not worried at all.”
Broncos coach Kevin Walters said after the game that Mom was “adamant” that she heard correctly, while game audio showed her Broncos teammates were also confident they heard the alleged “monkey” slur.

Roosters star Leniu is expected to head the NRL panel next week.
On Wednesday, Brisbane star Billy Walters said he would be willing to give evidence to the committee about the incident which allegedly occurred in the 69th minute, with footage showing the five-eighth was very close to Leniu at the time of the alleged incident.
‘This (vision) has come to light today. “The NRL has been trying to find audio of the incident but they haven’t been able to get it,” said Fox League’s James Hooper.
“Billy was questioned this morning and confirmed that, if necessary, he and I believe Payne Haas as well are willing to go to the judiciary and give a statement.
“They were in the vicinity of where the alleged incident occurred.”
Paul Kent added: “If there is a guilty plea then he (Walters) is not necessary.” But if he (Leniu) pleads not guilty, Billy Walters will testify.
The footage shows Leniu looking at mom and saying something in her direction. Walters reacts immediately to what is said and chases after the striker and continues talking to Leniu as the play develops.
Two tackles later, the alleged insult is reported to referee Adam Gee.
‘Looks like Billy heard something. “Keep in mind, Braith, there were two tackles before the incident was reported to the referee,” Kent said.

“Surely Billy Walters reacts and Spencer Leniu says something. We are one step further down the evidentiary chain because we can see that there is some verbal exchange.
‘You see how Billy Walters immediately turns (towards Leniu). Players can sometimes turn a deaf ear to these things, but he reacts immediately. So he will claim that what Ezra Mam claimed to have said was what he actually said.
Leniu is likely to face the judiciary next Tuesday night, with the likes of Latrell Mitchell calling for an extended ban.
Responding to Andrew Voss’ prediction that Leniu could miss eight to 12 weeks, Mitchell said on Instagram: “And some…”
