A 17-year-old boy helped Ryder Skye Cambron in her fake kidnapping, according to Sheriff's Montgomery County office specialist, Steve Squier, who said Ryder and the teenager had left clues to her family to convince them that someone was against her had taken her will.
That included Cambron who left her vehicle in the woods near a park, with her cell phone still inside.
Ryder & # 39; s parents reported missing on Tuesday after she had left her home in Magnolia, north of Houston, and was seen watching her UTV drive through the subdivision where she lives.
Her family had not heard from her since she sent her parents a text message around 8 p.m.
Investigators say Ryder Cambron, the 15-year-old girl who disappeared from her town in Texas Tuesday night before the police found her in the woods the day after, made her family think she was abducted after she ran away from home
The police later found her vehicle left in the woods near a park. Her mobile was found in the UTV
The police later found her cell phone in the commercial vehicle, which was left in the woods near a park.
& # 39; Ryder intentionally left the UTV and her cell phone in the park and went with the 17-year-old man to a residence in Dobbin, Texas, & # 39; Squier wrote in a press release about this.
& # 39; Ryder had been hiding in the residence in Dobbin for about 28 hours with the 17-year-old man and two other adult men. & # 39;
The news spread quickly about Ryder & # 39; s disappearance when concerned citizens wanted to help her parents find her. Dozens of volunteers helped the police reduce their potential location.
Ryder had not been heard since she last sent a text message to her parents on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The Montgomery County Sheriff office said Wednesday evening that they had located Ryder just 12 miles away in the nearby town of Dobbin.
It wasn't long before the 15-year-old discovered that detectives helped by police dogs had followed her to her companions' house. She decided to flee to a nearby wooded area to avoid them.
& # 39; When investigators were preparing to follow fangs to search the wooded area where she was last seen, a vigilant citizen saw a suspicious person hiding in the shade on nearby railways, & # 39; said Squier.
& # 39; The citizen called the sheriff's office in Montgomery County and reported that the suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket and black shorts, which Ryder reportedly wore when she went missing. & # 39;
Search and rescue teams traversed the wooded area with the help of search dogs and dozens of volunteers
Authorities immediately launched a large-scale two-day search for the missing teenager
A helicopter employee from the public security ministry saw Ryder from the air about four miles away from where the citizen involved saw her. Authorities caught her and interviewed her to make sure she wasn't in need before she brought her back to her parents shortly thereafter.
The sheriff's office can file charges against the teenage boy and two men who helped Ryder hide during her escapade.
& # 39; This is still an active investigation, as investigators are investigating possible charges against anyone responsible for harboring a runaway, & # 39; said Squier.
Ryder is a student at the Magnolia West High School and comes from a very religious family.
The teenager was found several hours after a vigil was held in her home town when her family and various religious groups prayed for her safe return.
"Everyone who knows Ryder knows she is a true believer in God, and I now know where she is, God is with her," her father told the crowd.
