A 27-year-old woman from Florida was found dead on Monday afternoon in her cocaine-filled cabin on a cruise ship in the Bahamas.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) first received reports around 5:30 p.m. local time on Monday that the woman was found unresponsive in her cabin off the island of Grand Bahama.

Medical personnel on the ship performed CPR, but no signs of life were detected and the woman was pronounced dead on the ship.

Two ships that docked at Freeport in Grand Bahama on Monday included Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas and Margaritaville Paradise.

Upon arrival, authorities confiscated “a quantity of suspected cocaine” from her cabin, the RBPF said in a press release.

A 32-year-old Florida man was arrested during the initial investigation, authorities said.

The terrifying account emerged last month when Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson, both 31-year-old mothers, said they were attacked on the last day of their four-day cruise.

The couple left Jacksonville, Fla., on February 1 for their first ‘kid-free’ vacation together on the 2,000-seat Carnival Elation.

But their idyllic cruise turned into a nightmare when it docked at Grand Bahama, where the 27-year-old woman from Florida was found dead.

‘We just decided to spend the day at the beach. There were other people from the cruise on the beach so there were no red flags for us.’ Dobson told Dailymail.com.

And when they arrived, they were approached by two men who they thought were resort hospitality, offering them drinks.

‘They said if you buy one we’ll give you one free and we thought, well why aren’t we on holiday.’

Dobson wanted to get some shells for his children back in Lancaster, and the men said they knew where to find them.

Security footage from the resort shows that within 15 minutes the pair were barely able to stand as they were led away under the influence of cocaine, opiates and benzodiazepines.

“I remember waking up and being pushed down,” Dobson said. ‘I woke up in the resort bathroom and there were people all around and I just felt like my legs were dirty and I knew what had happened.

‘They told us we had thrown up, which is a good thing because the drugs would have killed us.’

The women said toxicology reports showed the cocktail of drugs in their system, but no alcohol. Dobson said seeing the results ‘retraumatised’ her, while Shearer added the pair were then treated ‘like drug addicts’.

Police arrested a 54-year-old man from Eight Mile Rock and a 40-year-old from South Bahama after resort staff showed them security footage of the women being taken away.

Police have not named the suspects, but local reports suggest one is linked to a powerful figure on the islands who is using his influence to secure his brother’s release.
