Tickets to watch Lionel Messi and Argentina compete in this summer’s Copa América were selling for more than $21,000 just one day after pre-sales began.

While general ticket sales for the tournament won’t begin until February 28, pre-sales for the competition began Thursday on Ticketmaster and resale prices have already skyrocketed.

In SeatGeekTwo tickets to watch Messi and Argentina play Chile in the group stage were listed on Friday for an incredible $21,503 each.

The entrances are described on the website as being in the first row of section 142, which is close to the penalty area on one side.

Those tickets soon disappeared from the site, and the next most expensive seats for that game currently cost $12,795.

The cheapest tickets for that June 25 game at MetLife Stadium listed at the time of this writing are $480, still expensive.

Meanwhile, the ticket price for Argentina’s group stage match in Atlanta, which will be played against a yet-to-be-determined CONCACAF qualifier, was $297.

A group of tickets for that were listed for $14,338 each.

And the cheapest tickets for the Argentina-Peru clash on June 29 in Miami were $378 on Friday afternoon.

A group of tickets in row 9, section 118 were selling for up to $14,665.

Citing data from SeatGeek, Bloomberg reported Thursday that the average ticket for the tournament was $734.

In the competition, players like Argentina, Brazil and Chile will come to the United States, while the United States will look to prove that they can compete with their South American enemies.

Messi, 36, remains firmly committed to his international career after helping the Albiceleste lift the World Cup in 2022.
