Six Nations organizers have confirmed that the men’s tournament starting in February will remain ‘as planned’ after the women’s competition was postponed due to the coronavirus.

The tournament organizers added that the 2021 Women’s Six Nations Championship will be moved to “ later this spring or early summer. ”

The Under-20s Six Nations tournament is also being postponed.

In a statement, the Six Nations said: ‘Six Nations Rugby Limited confirmed today that the Women’s and U202021 championships will not take place in the regular Six Nations window in February and March this year.

Instead, the women’s championship will be scheduled in revised windows later this spring or early summer.

The Six Nations for women is seen as more challenging to work safely and successfully during the pandemic, given the need for many players to return to their jobs, some of which are key and frontline workers.
