“I was going to do what the fuck I was going to do right before you walked up to me,” he told the security guard.

From there, the situation worsened and became physical in a matter of seconds. The pedestrian threatened the officer that he would slap him.

The fight continued when the pedestrian punched the officer in the head with his right hand.

Pedestrians called for police backup and the pedestrian was eventually detained.

The officer involved in the altercation suffered an injury and was taken to the hospital, where he spent the night with head and neck pain.

The video captured by KRON4 will be presented as evidence to the district attorney’s office, police told the local outlet.

The mayor was not physically harmed during this incident as his security team did exactly what they were hired to do.

The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on multiple charges, including felony assault on a police officer. The reason has not yet been determined.
