A married mayor of a father of two children and interior designer issued a humiliating apology after sending a series of naked selfies from his work email address.
The mayor of Diamantina Shire, Geoff Morton, admitted uploading naked selfies from himself from a camera to his work computer last year.
The father-of-two sent the images, which allegedly show him posing naked in a booty while camping, at his personal email address.
The images came to light when a member of the town hall staff detected them, The Courier Mail reported.
The revelation comes when Cr Morton, whose council area includes Birdsville and Bedourie in western Queensland, is preparing to host thousands of people at the Birdsville races on Friday.

After the images were detected, the local government watchdog ordered Mayor Morton to apologize for the images in March of this year.
When the publication approached him, Cr Morton said that he regretted having happened, but that the images were private and in no way affected the public.
"They were personal images taken for someone's personal business," he said.

He confirmed that the images showed him naked, but he refused to say what he was trying to do with them.
Cr Morton said he only sent the images of his work email to his personal email address.
In addition to apologizing for the images, the Regional Conduct Review Panel also ordered Cr Morton to be advised by an IT professional.
