The Masters decided to delay the opening of all gates to Thursday morning due to the severe storms that hit Augusta National before the start of the tournament.
All free parking at the venue will be closed until further notice, while gate opening will be delayed at Augusta National.
Fans should expect further updates before 5am on Thursday from official representatives of The Masters.
Golf needs clear conditions to play, especially at the highest level. Delaying a golf tournament to end on Monday is not unheard of, but it would be an extreme disappointment for what is arguably the sport’s biggest annual event.
Heavy rain is expected throughout Wednesday night and will continue into Thursday morning. Storms are expected to hit the area as the first players are scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. ET.
