The Masked Singer: Kandi Burruss removes the Night Angel mask after winning season three of the hit Fox show
Night Angel’s Kandi Burruss was named the season three winner of The Masked Singer on Wednesday and became the first female winner of the show.
The 44-year-old reality star impressed the jury as the Night Angel with her charisma, smoky voice and musical chops nodding to her early career as a singer / songwriter.
By earning the show’s coveted golden mask, Kandi achieved a goal she was chasing all season long.

33-year-old Jesse McCartney, who dressed as the Turtle, came in second, while 33-year-old rapper Bow Wow came in third as the Frog.
Show host Nick Cannon, 39, asked Kandi what it meant for her to win the contest for all the singers who had been on the show.
“It feels incredible!” crowed Kandi, who became famous as a member of the 90s girl group Xscape.
The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star has had an impressive career as a musician, producer, actress, businesswoman and member of several reality shows.

Robin Thicke, 43, said he was impressed by Kandi’s “versatility”, calling her catalog of hits “so humble” for him as an artist.
After her exposure, Kandi revealed that she doubted her vocal skills for so long that she would essentially stop doing what she was so good at, which shocked the judges.
“I stopped singing on my own for a long time,” she confessed. “You know, you get negative feedback and you mess with your head.”

The win may have been even sweeter for Kandi because the final contestants on the show were so good that Nick called it “ the tightest three-way race in Masked Singer’s history. ”

When the episode started, 50-year-old Ken Jeong still celebrated the fact that he correctly guessed the identity of the rhino, former baseball player Barry Zito, 42, on last week’s show.
“Ken, you got a good one this season, and that’s because you stole Jenny’s gamble,” Nick told the actor, who dressed like a king while waving on set.

“That could have been the MTV Music Awards in that performance,” Nicole wondered, as Robin praised the Frog’s ability to race around without losing his breath.
Several judges rightly suspected that the Turtle could be Bow Wow, but they also thought he could be a rapper like Lil ‘Romeo, 30, and Kid Cudi, 36, or entertainer MC Hammer, 58.
Bow Wow said he had known he couldn’t top many of the artists on the show, so he chose songs that showed his ‘swag’ and instead got ‘the people’ behind him.

Clues to his identity included an ice cube tray, which nodded to the movie Lottery Ticket, in which he and Ice Cube played together, and a lightning bolt referring to his role in the movie Like Mike.
The next artist was the Turtle, who moved everyone with his emotional rendition of Lewis Capaldi’s Before You Go, and made Nicole cry.
“You made the most of every moment you’ve been on this show,” she told him.
“When I started this journey, I had no idea how much this competition would change me as an artist,” said the Turtle. “This has allowed me to take risks that I would never have dreamed of.”

“Normally I try to get out of the way of the microphone, because I just got the feeling that I wasn’t singing very well anymore,” she admitted. “Your positive words made me feel so good.”
In her video, Kandi described her struggle with self-esteem and said that she was initially afraid of failing when she came to the show thinking she wasn’t ‘enough’.
Her lack of success as a solo artist had led her to develop other solid companies, but she wanted to try singing again to encourage her children to follow their dreams.

Some judges felt that Night Angel was an actress such as Taraji P. Henson, 49, or Tisha Campbell, 51.
But Jenny pointed out that one of the clues showed four grandma’s sparring, and she immediately knew it was a reference to Kandi’s Atlanta Old Lady Gang restaurant.
She also noted that a commercial with the words’ Off the Hook ‘echoed the title of Xscape’s 1995 album, while Robin saw a shot of someone calling up the band’s 1993 single Just Kickin’ It, which he often had bought and listened to.
