ABC News Breakfast presenter Tony Armstrong has been nominated for a Gold Logie.
And on Tuesday, the popular presenter, 34, revealed the one thing he doesn’t like about running for the prestigious gong after returning to the show following an 11-week break.
He told viewers he didn’t like smiling in the photos used to announce the vote.
Co-host Michael Rowland mocked Armstrong after sharing a promotional photo of the star scowling.
“How sizzling is that (photo),” Rowland joked, adding: “When they asked you to pose for that, what did they tell you? What kind of look were they going for?”
Gold Logie nominee Tony Armstrong reappeared on ABC New Breakfast on Tuesday after being away from the sofa for 11 weeks.
Armstrong responded: “Normally they say ‘we want you to smile more.’ And I don’t really like smiling in photos, as you all know.
“Fun fact,” Rowland joked to Armstrong.
Rowland also shared a behind-the-scenes video in which Armstrong can be seen watching a segment promoting his Gold Logie nomination.
Meanwhile, Armstrong revealed during News Breakfast that he would only work on the show from Tuesday to Friday while also co-hosting ABC’s new sports show Monday Experts with Catherine Murphy.
While hosting the show, he revealed that there was at least one thing he didn’t like about running for the prestigious gong. He told viewers that he didn’t like to smile in photos.

Armstrong faces tough competition in the Gold Logie race.
The other contenders include Robert Irwin, and his I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here co-host, Julia Morris.
Larry Emdur, Sonia Kruger, Asher Keddie and Seven’s Andy Lee are also nominated for the prestigious gong.
YoIn addition to his Gold Logie nomination, Irwin, along with Morris, Emdur, Kruger and Armstrong, is also in the running for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

This category has another strong contender, Hamish Blake.
The 64th annual Logie Awards will be hosted by comedian Sam Pang and will take place in Sydney on August 18.
This year, the event will be broadcast on Channel 7.
