ABC News Breakfast presenter Tony Armstrong has been nominated for a Gold Logie.

And on Tuesday, the popular presenter, 34, revealed the one thing he doesn’t like about running for the prestigious gong after returning to the show following an 11-week break.

He told viewers he didn’t like smiling in the photos used to announce the vote.

“How sizzling is that (photo),” Rowland joked, adding: “When they asked you to pose for that, what did they tell you? What kind of look were they going for?”

Armstrong faces tough competition in the Gold Logie race.

The other contenders include Robert Irwin, and his I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here co-host, Julia Morris.

Larry Emdur, Sonia Kruger, Asher Keddie and Seven’s Andy Lee are also nominated for the prestigious gong.

YoIn addition to his Gold Logie nomination, Irwin, along with Morris, Emdur, Kruger and Armstrong, is also in the running for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

The 64th annual Logie Awards will be hosted by comedian Sam Pang and will take place in Sydney on August 18.

This year, the event will be broadcast on Channel 7.
