Alicia Witt and Melissa Joan Hart revealed their identities after taking part in the space-themed episode of The Masked Singer on Wednesday.
UFO after singing Elton John’s Rocket Man during the Battle Royale advanced to the next round of the popular Fox show.
Melissa, 46, acted as the Lamp on the season nine episode and made it to the battle royale before losing out to UFO.
“This was something I wanted to do for my kids and myself,” said Melissa. “I wanted to conquer something. I’ve never sung in front of people. It’s terrifying to me. This was like conquering a fear, and I did it, guys!’
The public cheered for the actress and singer who recently helped children flee a school shooting in Nashville.
Mask off: Melissa Joan Hart revealed her identity after appearing as Lamp on Fox’s Wednesday episode of The Masked Singer
“I didn’t fall,” Melissa said. “I didn’t throw up.”
“And you sounded great!” said host Nick Cannon, 42.
Lamp performed wearing a mask consisting of a stained glass lampshade, and clues to her identity included a photograph of panelist Nicole Scherzinger, a yearbook, a cauldron, and an energy drink. Lamp also shared that as a teen idol she had kissed Mario Lopez, James Van Der Beek and Ryan Reynolds.
She then took the stage in her costume and sang Venus from Bananarama.
“You put that wow-wow sauce on that gig, girl,” said Nicole, 44.
“I thought you were lighting up the stage, Lamp,” said 46-year-old Robin Thicke.
Daphne Zuniga, the Melrose Place actress who also played Princess Vespa from Spaceballs, pulled out a Lamp clue that read “Cover Girl.”
“Let me spell it MAXIM,” the Lamp said.
Dandelion Mask: Alicia Witt performed as Dandelion before being unmasked during the season nine episode
Good try: Melissa, 46, acted as the Lamp and made it to the battle royale before losing to UFO
Ahead: UFO won the battle royale after performing Elton John’s Rocket Man
High praise: “You put that wow-wow sauce on that performance, girl,” Nicole Scherzinger told Lamp after her performance of Venus from Bananarama
Nicole thought it could be Alyssa Milano because she had been on many Maxim covers. Robin thought it could be Tara Reid or Ali Larter.
The judges were almost unanimous in their final guess for Lamp.
Nicole, Robin and Jenny McCarthy, 50, all suspected it was Melissa. However, Ken Jeong, 53, insisted they were all wrong and it was Michelle Williams. When Melissa unmasked, Ken was embarrassed that he didn’t guess her since they had worked together once.
“I was wrong about Ken Jeong, oh my goodness,” Ken said.
“If you’ve worked with Ken, he’ll never guess you on this show,” Jenny joked.
Alicia, 47, was exposed after performing as Dandelion in a green sequined outfit with a white fluffy flower. As Dandelion, she took her dog backstage and shared a hint of a Santa hat with a smiling emoji. Dandelion then played the piano while singing Starlight from Muse as dancers revolved around her.
“Dandelion, you’re an intergalactic rock star on that stage tonight,” Nicole said.
Nicole was impressed that she could sing and play the piano.
Nearly unanimous: Nicole, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy all guessed correctly that Lamp was Melissa
“Great,” said Robin. “It proves she must be a professional performer.”
“It has to be,” Jenny said.
Ravi the Rover, a space rover, brought up another clue to Dandelion’s identity, saying “space star.”
“Tonight’s theme is perfect for me because I have a lot of space experience,” said Dandelion.
Dandelion received the lowest score after the votes of the audience and panelists were tabulated and eliminated.
Robin guessed she was Sara Bareilles. Nicole thought she was Zooey Deschanel, but Jenny thought it was Milla Jovovich. Only Ken guessed it was Alicia.
Ken was so excited and shocked that he guessed right that he started jumping up and down.
“For once in my life,” Ken said.
Got it: Ken Jeong was the only panelist who correctly guessed that Alicia was Dandelion
Alicia recently battled cancer with a mastectomy shortly after her parents froze to death in their neglected home in December 2021 and Nick asked her how she prepared to perform as Dandelion.
“Well, nothing could prepare me for trying to play the piano and sing and catch my breath with all this, but I’m really glad I tried,” Alicia said. “What I loved most was connecting with people with my music and this has been one of the best experiences of my entire life.”
UFO, wearing a silver outfit with a spaceship as her skirt, gave clues, among other clues: New England, a sewing machine and a tombstone. UFO sang Coldplay’s Yellow, holding the mic right up to her one eye. Then she ran and shook hands with the audience.
“That performance was out of this world,” Nicole said.
“You touched me deeply,” Jenny said. “You are a natural star.”
Mike Massimo, a former NASA astronaut who spent more than 571 hours in space, brought out her clue, saying “planet wide.”
“I don’t like to brag, but I’m known not just in America, but all over the galaxy,” UFO said.
Ken thought she was Kendall Jenner.
“No one in this galaxy, and I repeat, no one is more famous than Kendall Jenner,” Ken said.
Jenny insisted it was Gigi Hadid. Robin suspected it might be Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter.
The Masked Singer returns this Wednesday on Fox with the remaining “Supreme Six.”
Amazing experience: “Well, nothing could prepare me to try to play the piano and sing and catch my breath with all this, but I’m really glad I tried,” Alicia told host Nick Cannon. ‘What I loved most is connecting with people with my music and this has been one of the best experiences of my entire life’
