A woman’s attempt to humiliate her clueless husband in public for the first time to make the bed in 45 years failed when his creative ways of presenting the extra pillows turned out to be an unlikely viral hit.
Joanne Sterling, who lives in Manson, Washington, vigorously told her husband Jim to “pull his weight” around the house for the first time after retiring from his role as boss of a hardwood flooring store.
She gave him the task of making the bed and was left hysterical as she watched the extra pillows confuse the 66-year-old who thought they should be piled against the wall.
Retired pharmacy technician Joanne shared a photo of the bizarre setup on her Facebook to mock how clueless Jim was and did the same with his subsequent attempts the following day.

Jim and Joanne’s daughter Jessy collected nearly 20,000 likes after her post about his bed skills went viral on Facebook. Pictured: Jim stacked all the pillows together
The couple’s daughter, Jessy, also shared Jim’s funny attempts to help around the house on social media, with nearly 20,000 likes, comments, and share actions.
But their plans to embarrass Jim failed, because once he saw his imaginative ways of arranging the pillows hit a chord, he started making more elaborate displays to fool himself.
Joanne said, “I just don’t think he had any idea what to do with the extra pillows, so put them somewhere.
“Once he retired, I told him to start pulling his own weight and help all around the house.
Joanne said Jim seemed baffled by the extra pillows and put them everywhere. Pictured: Jim included inflatable flamingos in his pillow display

“When he did the first, he said nothing about it. He just let me find it. ‘
After sorting the duvet and regular pillows, Jim had four pillows left and didn’t seem to know what to do with them.
On the first day, he stacked them all together, creating two identical totem-like stacks with the yellow pillows on top.
The next day, Jim lined up the two yellow pillows and two floral questions for the pillows, creating almost a second level.
On the third day, he hid all the decorative pillows under their functional pillows before stacking all eight pieces of furniture in the middle of their bed.
Jim has played his newfound fame by experimenting with elaborate methods of presenting the pillows every day. Pictured: Jim hides the pillows under their duvet
Joanne said Jim’s designs are funny, but she’s happy that he makes the bed every morning. Pictured: Jim put all the pillows on the bottom of the bed
Joanne shared all the unusual attempts to organize them on her Facebook page every day, until her daughter saw the hilarious situation and made the viral post of her father’s failed attempts.
Since becoming a viral hit, Jim played out his newfound fame by coming up with ever more elaborate methods of showcasing the pillows.
Joanne said, “His designs are funny, but honestly, I’m just so happy that he makes the bed every morning.
“He still doesn’t tell me what he did, he just leaves it as a surprise to me when I walk into the bedroom.

Joanne revealed that her favorite of Jim’s attempts was the first, saying that his creativity keeps them both in a good mood. Pictured: Jim hid all pillows under the pillows
Joanne admits that she is surprised by the amount of interest Jim’s creations have received. Pictured: Jim’s attempt to use props
“The bed will stay like that until we go to sleep, and I giggle every time I pass it.
“My favorite was the very first one because it made me laugh so hard. It keeps us both in a good mood.
“I couldn’t believe the interest of his little creations. I think other couples can just relate to a man who doesn’t know what he’s doing in the house.
“Now that he thinks he’s famous, I think it’s starting to gobble him up. He even started recording props like stuffed toys and even an inflatable flamingo. ‘
