Intruder is charged with murder after ‘breaking into a unit and hitting a guy with a GUITAR for his girlfriend’ – before fleeing to a gas station

An intruder has been charged with murder after allegedly breaking into a man’s house and beating him with a guitar for his girlfriend.
Police will allege that the 35-year-old broke into Gladesville, on Sydney’s lower north coast, at 8:25 am last Monday while the couple slept.
The man then reportedly hit the victim, 36, over the head with a guitar he found in the room before fleeing.
The victim was rushed to an intensive care unit at Royal North Shore Hospital with a serious head injury, but died six days later at 4:30 PM on Sunday.
A man allegedly broke into a couple’s unit and hit a 36-year-old man with a guitar over his head, which later resulted in the victim’s death.
The victim’s 31-year-old girlfriend was not injured in the attack.
Police released camera footage of the accused murderer in a nearby gas station wearing a cap and t-shirt in combination with black pants shortly after the attack.
On the same day as the man’s death, the alleged intruder was arrested and charged with murder 750 kilometers north of the crime scene in Byron Bay.
He was denied bail and will appear before the local court in Lismore on Monday.
