A Sri Lankan man has been charged with terrorism-related crimes in Sydney after an investigation by police and security agencies.
The 25-year-old was arrested by members of the New South Wales Counter-Terrorism Joint Team in Kensington, in south-east Sydney, on Thursday.
The student, who is believed to be living in Zetland, Sydney, was denied bail to appear in the Waverley Local Court on Friday.
The 25-year-old Sri Lankan citizen reportedly lived in Australia several years before his arrest.
The police said there was no threat to public safety.
