Richard Adams, 20, recently pleaded guilty to a charge against the attack in the Eastlake, Cleveland incident on March 21.
Adams & girlfriend, however, noticed that he did not respond and was not in bed on Monday night.
Paramedics attempted to administer CPR upon arrival, but he was declared dead on the spot.
Eastlake Police chief Larry Reik told Cleveland19 that Adams' cause of death is still being investigated, but early signs suggest a possible drug overdose.

Adams had recently been found guilty of a felony charge of assault after he struck a 17-year-old he allegedly found molesting a five-year-old boy in Eastlake, Ohio, last month. Adams said he snapped & # 39; when he was the unidentified teenager with the & # 39; s penis of the toddler in his mouth & # 39; and said to Fox8: & # 39; I am rather darkened. I was just thinking about stopping it & # 39;
& # 39; He was so stressed by the situation and so depressed & # 39 ;, his uncle Jeff Cook wrote on a GoFundMe page designed to cover the costs of Adams & # 39; funeral.
In a previous fundraising, Cook also revealed that Adams' girlfriend tragically made their child five months pregnant during her pregnancy.
& # 39; Ricky was destroyed because he was looking forward to becoming a father & # 39 ;, he wrote on April 10.
The 20-year-old was arrested last month after snarling & # 39; & # 39; when he apparently discovered a 17-year-old boy who had oral sex on a five-year-old in his Vine Street home.
As Adams walked into the meeting, he pushed the child's teen and yelled at someone else in the house to call the police.

The child is said to have told him that the teenager told him & # 39; the previous evening & # 39; touched there too, causing Adams to burst into rage and start attacking the accused rapist.
The Civil Guard later uploaded a video of the attack on Facebook, in which the teenager – bloodied and bruised – was questioned angry about the attack.
& # 39; I am quite darkened & # 39 ;, Adams told Fox8 after being released on bail. & # 39; I wanted to help the young boy and that was all I thought about stopping it. & # 39;
& # 39; I was doing and I went outside and there was the 17 year old and he had the 5 year old pen in his mouth. & # 39;
Adams added that he felt repentant for uploading the video, but insisted that he didn't regret his actions.
& # 39; I am sorry I posted it on Facebook, but I intended to show people that this could happen to you if you touch a child or hurt you.
& # 39; I want everyone to stop all child abusers and predators from outside. I don't want any child to have to go through that, & # 39; he added, noting that he himself is expecting a child soon. & # 39;
Many have considered Adams & # 39; as a hero for the action he has taken. Eastlake police said they did not confirm vigilance after public outrage over his arrest
Shortly before his death, Adams was charged with assault and found guilty on April 10.
He was released on bail of $ 5,000 and was ordered to be placed in a diversion program because the attack was his first crime.
Many have considered Adams & # 39; a hero for the action he has taken, with a GoFundMe page of over $ 40,000 to cover the costs of his legal fees.
Police say they were flooded with calls from community members who expressed their outrage that he had been arrested in the first place.
Although Eastlake police said they understood the frustration of the public, they said they did not support vigilance or violence.
& # 39; We have received numerous e-mails, phone calls and communications in which people have expressed their emotions and frustrations with the recent case we had concerning the investigation into a five-year-old rape and the attack of the 17-year-old accused man, & # 39; the department said in a statement after the arrest of Adams.
& # 39; We really understand the interest, passion and take care of these types of cases. It has been processed by the court and will continue to go through the system.
& # 39; To attack people within the system to achieve a certain result, it's not about justice. We appreciate the impact this story has had on the community and beyond, but we expect people to be bourgeois in expressing their disagreement and / or supporting what is and will happen. & # 39;
It is not clear how Adams knew the 17-year-old, whose identification was not released because he is a minor, or the five-year alleged victim.
The teenager was also arrested and later charged with two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. He will appear in court at a later date.
